What We Do

"To make our institutions perform responsibly, autonomously, and on a high level of achievement is thus the only safeguard of freedom and dignity in the pluralist society of institutions. But it is managers and management that make institutions perform. Performing, responsible management is the alternative to tyranny and our only protection against it."

- Peter F. Drucker. (1986)

Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices

Our Focus

Management as a Liberal Art Foundation (MLAF) is a non-profit private foundation that provides funding to promote access to Management as a Liberal Art knowledge, as developed by Peter F. Drucker.  Our grants support non-profit organizations who promote Management as a Liberal Art via graduate degree programs, events and workshops, publications, and encourage further research in the discipline of management. We believe management as a liberal art principles are the key to healthy institutions and a functioning society.

Education

We also support higher education institutions with resources to help develop MLA educational programs.

Advocation

Management is not about following orders and maintaining a strict chain of command. MLA principles and guidelines inspire people to do their best work by helping individuals understand their contribution to society.

Research

We support research and publications in business management, curriculum design, and educational content on the topic of management as a liberal art.
